Why Course for Life?
It is based on the discipleship model Jesus Christ used with his twelve disciples.
It is Bible based.  Students look up/discuss numerous scriptures each week as they relate to various topics. Trendy items were intentionally avoided so the curriculum is timeless--based only on God's Word. Instructors can make/encourage trendy connections, as needed.
It is non-denominational.  See  "What We Believe."
It is a complete, discipleship program (2-3 years for middle school, 4 years for high school and 1-3+ years for adults) designed to develop spiritual leaders. It includes a weekly group meeting to encourage students and hold them accountable for
-- one weekly Bible study
-- 2-5 personal quiet times (number varies by year/maturity level)
-- one weekly scriputre memory
-- keeping a weekly prayer journal
-- two yearly projects to apply lessons learned
It is sequential.  Every lesson builds on the previous lesson which ultimately equips students to "go and make disciples."  Large and small projects are included each year to help students apply what they are learning. In the youth division,  THIRD MILE is a heavy leadership/service focus before FOURTH MILE where students get to teach a middle school discipleship class or do a year-long ministry project (if teaching is not their "gift"). The adult discipleship courses follow the same format using two years of discipling before going to make disciples in year three and following.
The pages are clutter-free.  According to research and observations of the authors, many youth/adults are distracted by too many graphics. The pages in this curriculum include simple text in order to keep the focus on God's Word.
It has been successfully used in churches since 1984.   Based on this, it was revised in 2004, piloted in 2005-2006,   and graphically represented to share with churches across the country.
The authors are ministers, youth workers, and educators who had strong discipleship programs during their pre-teen/teen years.  Because of this, they are out to see eternity changed--not out to get rich. They are approachable, and willing to work with you in any way to help your youth/adults grow in spiritual maturity. Feel free to        e-mail/call them using the contact information at the bottom of each of the website pages.
The authors pray regularly for those who purchase this curriculum and even welcome specific prayer requests and praises (John 17:20).
